Jason Meyers, Co-Founder of Corp Cru, Carol Van Cleef of BakerHostetler, Michael del Castillo of Coindesk and Nick Spanos.

The invitation only “art meets technology” event, staged within the Corporation by Corp Cru exhibit, featured a range of highly controversial topics about the Blockchain, Blockchain applications and Bitcoin.

The panel of experts; moderated by Jason Meyers, a veteran VC and co-founder of Corp Cru, included Carol Van Cleef, Head of the FinTech, Virtual Currency and Blockchain practice teams at BakerHostetler, Nick Spanos, Founder of Bitcoin Center and Blockchain Technologies Corp and Michael del Castillo, Staff Reporter at Coindesk, the main source of news in Blockchain and virtual currencies.

The audience consisted of an unusual and extremely eclectic mix of art patrons, art industry insiders, industrialists, journalists and lawyers. Attendees also included a large number of Blockchain practitioners, cryptographers, hackers and rebel cipher punks; many of whom anonymously contributed answers to questions by the audience during Q&A.

When one attendee questioned the event’s relevance to art,

After the three hour discussion, the audience ganged up on Janet Yellen to play Corporation.

the entire room erupted into applause, including the panelists. Jason Meyers, the moderator and founder of Corp Cru quickly began a monologue on how the Corporation exhibit expresses contrast between the US debt based monetary system as governed by the Federal Reserve and the peer to peer democratic consensus “constitutionality” of the the Blockchain. The discussion then turned to a dialogue about how a few startups have developed a service for artists that secures the integrity, authentication and tangibility of digital art using the Blockchain.

The engaging and often explosive three hour discussion concluded a little past 10PM when the audience ganged up on Janet Yellen, the main subject of the exhibit, to play Corporation games.
